.EU is a country code top-level domain for the European Union. The domain has been created in 2005 for any person, company, or organization based in the European Union. The ccTLD is operated by EURid. There are more than 3 million domains registered with the .eu extension.

 

Requirements to register .EU domain

The registration of the .eu domains is restricted to registrants located in the European Economic Area. Apart from that, there are no other restrictions. Therefore if you or your business is located in the EEA and would like your website to target EU residents then you can register a .eu domain name.
