The .mobi is a generic top-level domain and its name comes from the word mobile. The domain was approved by ICANN in 2005 and was managed by mTLD global registry. In 2010 Afilias acquire mTLD Top Level Domain Ltd which is also known as dotMobi. At present, there are 600 000 .mobi domains registered.

 

Requirements for .mobi registration

The .mobi domain has been available for registration by the public since 2006. The extension is intended for mobile websites. Therefore, all .MOBI websites must be optimized for mobile devices. Although it is not a widely used domain name you can register it through our website here or via the domain manager.
