Home » Knowledge Base » Control Panel » Domain Manager » How can I transfer my domain name to a different domain provider?

In this article, we’re going to explain how to transfer domain registration from AwardSpace to a different domain provider.

The steps needed to perform a transfer would depend on your domain extension.

If your domain name happens to have a .com/.net/.org/.info/.biz ending, please follow the Transfer Top-Level Domain instructions. In case you own a .co.uk/.org.uk/.uk domain, please review the Transfer a UK Domain Name paragraph in this article.

Listed below are the steps to transfer a .uk, .org.uk and .co.uk domain away:

Step #1: Placing a transfer order

First of all, you will need to place a domain transfer order at the new registrar’s website.

Step #2: Changing the IPS (Internet Provider Security) tag

The next step involves changing the so-called Internet Provider Security tag. To change the IPS tag of a UK domain, simply contact our dedicated support team and request an IPS tag change.

Information on how to reach our Support department can be found on our Support page.

Step #3: Confirming the transfer

The final step after updating the IPS tag is approving the transfer. In order for that to happen, contact the gaining domain provider and inform them of the IPS tag change.
